Education Program - Fortaleza

At our Education Program we have 40 children coming to study. 20 in the morning and 20 in the afternoon. Children from the favelas are always behind the rest of the students, as they do not go to pre-school nurseries as do children from more well-off families, so they are always behind other students. Also their parents are unable to help them with school work, as they themselves never had a proper education, and many are illiterate.  

The children who study at state school in the morning, come to education project in the afternoon, and the children who study at state school in the afternoon, come to education project in the morning. This extra tuition helps the favela children catch up with other students. To date over 4,000 children have benefited from this program.
