Feeding Program - Fortaleza

At our feeding program we work in the poorest favelas (slums) in Fortaleza providing an invaluable daily nutritious meal for over 200 impoverished children from the poorest families there. To date over 6,500 children have benefited from this program, most starting at the age of 3 and staying until 14 years old. For most of these children it is the only nutritious meal they receive.

In Brazilian State Schools children only study for 3 hours a day (either 8am-11am or 1pm-4pm), and school meals are not provided. So the children who study in the mornings will come to eat at our project after school, and those who study in the afternoon will come to the project to eat before they go to school.
